A limited edition Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita diamond-weave carbon fiber supercar (above), the first of only three being built for collectors worldwide, is for sale in South Africa with a whopping pricetag of $5 million, making it the world’s most expensive supercar. The Swedish supercar is a special version of the marque’s already exotic carbon fiber CCXR model, which goes for about $2 million. Both cars feature a 5.0 liter twin supercharged V8 engine producing 1,018 hp, and can do 0-62 mph in 2.9 seconds with a top speed of over 250 mph. The Trevita’s unique diamond weave finish means that when exposed to sunlight it “sparkles like millions of silvery white diamonds infused inside the visible carbon fiber weave bodywork.”

The Carbon 451 lamp, his latest project that was originally showed at Firenze during Super Design exhibition. The responsible for the birth of the lamp is usual suspect, gallery owner and culture agitator Patrick Brillet that asked Tremonto to use his imagination in order to create a lamp out of carbon fiber. It seems that the designer was easily convinced to utilize the best of the material’s physical properties, its strength and lightness.

The planned price for the track-biased road car is now thought to be around the £120,000 (€134,000) mark. This car weighs close to 500kg. The power will come from a V8 based on two Hayabusa motorbike engines and built specifically for the car by Ariel’s specialists. 0-62mph (100km/h) will be dealt with in under 2.5 seconds. Only 25 will be built, 19 of which have already been sold.
